Fondée à Paris en 1997, la galerie a développé dès le début un programme ancré dans les avant-gardes de l’après-guerre : notamment le mouvement CoBrA. Dès 2012, dans une continuité historiographique avec sa ligne éditoriale, elle s’est attachée à mettre en lumière des créateurs – alors négligés – comme Véra Pagava, Marcel Barbeau ou Nicolas Wacker, associant chercheurs et expositions dans le cadre de la galerie*.
Depuis 2016, la galerie répond à une géographie culturelle élargie, soutenant des artistes établis et émergents issus de la scène française et internationale, (Ghana, Sénégal, Mali, Nigéria, Géorgie, Inde et leurs diasporas). Ces artistes ouvrent un dialogue nourri autant par leur héritages extra-européens que par les codes de la peinture européenne, révélant au présent des filiations déterminantes, croisements culturels, enjeux sociétaux et environnementaux.
Présente sur les foires internationales – (Art Paris, Akaa, Volta New York et Basel, Investec Cape Town Art Fair )—, la galerie développe des partenariats institutionnels avec l’Institut français (2020), la School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) (2024-2025), en soutien aux résidences d’Ibrahim Ballo et Victor Olaoyé. La galerie contribue à des prêts d’œuvres pour des expositions muséales comme le « WAX » au musée de l’Homme (2025) et “La Mode ensemble” au Mucem à Marseille (2026).

Founded in Paris in 1997, the gallery developed from the outset a program rooted in the post-war avant-gardes, notably the CoBrA movement. As early as 2012, in historiographical continuity with its editorial line, it set out spothighlighting undervalued creators —such as Véra Pagava, Marcel Barbeau, and Nicolas Wacker, working in collaboration with scholars and mounting exhibitions at the gallery.
Since 2016, the gallery responds to an expanded cultural geography supporting both established and emerging artists from the French and international scenes (Ghana, Senegal, Mali, Nigeria, Georgia, India, and their diasporas). These artists open up a dialogue shaped as much by their extra-European heritages as by the codes of European painting, revealing in the present tense determiner filiations, cultural crossovers, and societal and environmental issues.
Present at international art fairs—Art Paris, AKAA, Volta New York and Basel, and the Investec Cape Town Art Fair—the gallery develops institutional partnerships with the Institut français (2020), the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) (2024–2025), in support of residencies for Ibrahim Ballo and Victor Olaoyé. The gallery contributes to loans of works for museum exhibitions such as WAX at the Musée de l’Homme (2025) and La Mode ensemble at the Mucem in Marseille (2026).
