ARMIN KANE AT THE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, MONTREAL, APRIL 2026

Selection of the film Xool Ma! (“Look at Me!”), directed with the Rescap’art collective in collaboration with former patients of the Moussa Diop Clinic in FANN, for the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival in Montreal.
This experimental film was first presented in November 2024 during the Dakar Biennale Off, alongside an exhibition of paintings created within the clinic space with the financial support of the Embassy of Luxembourg in Dakar.
Xool Ma!—“Look at Me” in Wolof—conveys a powerful message in today’s world to all those who are often stigmatized or ignored.
Through art and storytelling, the artists remind us of something deeply human: everyone deserves to be seen, accepted, and loved.
Armin Kane and the Rescap’art collective, together with Studio Kakatar, are very pleased that this film can now reach an international audience at the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival in Canada.
Ce film expérimental a été présenté pour la première fois en novembre 2024 lors de la Biennale de Dakar Off, parallèlement à une exposition de peintures réalisées dans l’espace de la clinique avec le soutien financier de l’ambassade du Luxembourg à Dakar.
Xool Ma ! « Regarde-moi » en wolof transmet un message fort dans un monde envers tous ceux souvent stigmatisées ou ignorées.
À travers l’art et la narration, les artistes nous rappellent quelque chose de profondément humain : tout le monde mérite d’être vu, accepté et aimé.
Armin Kane et le collectif Rescap’art avec le Studio Kakatar sont très heureux que ce film puisse désormais toucher un public international lors du Festival international du film Vues d’Afrique au Canada.
